Below is my candidate profile as it will appear in the booklet that will accompany your voting documents - these will start arriving from 31 August 2023. It is a postal vote and voting closes 12 noon on 21 September 2023 |
Originally from a South Otago sheep farm, I moved to my husband Kim’s family farm near Waitomo Caves in 2010 and have loved becoming part of the local community.
For the past six years I have worked hard on your behalf as a WESCT Trustee, and am proud of the achievements of the WESCT, TLC and Maru Energy Trust teams over that time.
I have over 20 years’ experience as a qualified accountant in both corporate and government roles as well as being a Chartered Director. Last year, I was humbled to be elected as a Rural Councillor on the Waitomo District Council. Many of the long-term inter-generational asset challenges faced by WESCT and Council are similar especially in the face of more frequent and intense weather events.
Climate change mitigation through decarbonisation is forecast to increase electricity demand by 68% by 2050. Following the very successful sale of Influx, the company is well placed to lead and be an enabler for our community. I would be grateful for your vote to be re-elected to continue the mahi we have been undertaking on your behalf.
